The Mobile Barriers MBT-1® was originally developed after a tragic accident in which two Colorado road maintenance workers were killed by a wrong-way driver. It underwent years of development and refinement working with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) before being first deployed in June 2008.
