We are the Information & Systems Security Society, a student-run organization in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. We work on teaching students practical hacking skills, spreading awareness about security, and running hands-on demos and challenges for students to practice their skills.
We hold Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions every other week, give talks on various security-related topics every week, and host more beginner-oriented security talks every other week. We also have a mentorship program that pairs students up with ISSS officers, either in a 1:1 or group setting (depending on mentee preference).
Additionally, we run big events like HackTXCTF, networking dinners, Security Day (our day-long security conference) and UTCTF , our annual 48-hour international CTF.
