Isabel was born in 1940, during the Sheffield Blitz. Her paternal Grandfather (John William Horton) was a Commercial Artist, specialising in large- scale work.
Education was at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School and Bretton Hall College. She subsequently taught Art at Beighton and Norfolk Park Secondary Schools.
