Ever since I can remember, food has played an important role in my life. My childhood memories are filled with the sweet aromas of my mother's cooking. Waiting outside the kitchen window with my brothers and sisters, the scents and smells wafting over us, I don't know how we resisted the urge to burst in and eat straight from the pot. Perhaps my mother's stern, but loving look stopped us or the anticipation of what was to come made us be patient.
I remember the amount of time and love that went into her cooking. She would prepare her Jerk Sauce with the love and care that only someone with the passion and desire to really create something wonderful would.
As I grew into a woman, my mother shared her kitchen secrets with me. Her greatest gift was her Jerk Sauce. I now have my mother's passion for cooking and see my own children as I once was. My heart fills with joy as I see my family enjoy my dishes. After many years of cooking with my mother's Jerk Sauce, I have decided to share it. This sauce is as genuine and authentic as when my mother created it back in Jamaica all those years ago.
