WEM Electric Motors and Drives (Pty) Ltd was founded in October 1988, under the name Indusquip Marketing cc. Indusquip concentrated on the development of it's "WEM" range of products, to the extent that in 1994 Indusquip started to produce its own SABS ' MARK CERTIFIED range of Low Voltage motors.
During this period it also started to negotiate to obtain the support and supply of motors from world class Medium Voltage manufactures and have established design and supply agreements with a number of companies over the years.
With the trend towards Higher Efficiency and Power Saving Drive Products, WEM Electric Motors and Drives (Pty) have signed a Sole Agency Agreement with Shenzhen INVT for AC Drives, WOLONG International for Electric motors (WOLONG International is the third largest Electric Motor manufacturer in the World) and T-T Electric for DC Motors, to provide the Market with its established High Efficiency "WEM" quality products.
