Indian Institute of Skills, Mumbai, formally came into existence on September 11, 2019. The foundation stone was laid by Shri Mahendranath Pandey, Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in the presence of the Chairman of Tata Sons, N. Chandrasekaran, and other dignitaries. The Institute is envisaged to be a landmark presence in the city of Mumbai, serving the skill building needs of Maharashtra and beyond.

The planned campus will be located on a 4.17-acre site in Chembur. The built-up area of the institute will be approximately 2.7 lakh square feet, with dedicated sections for classrooms, faculty, residential facilities and other amenities. The planned campus will have sections for multiple industries and domains, with select participation of industry partners and external entities with specific expertise.

As the institute awaits completion of the Chunabatti campus, it has started short-term courses, which will be offered on temporary campuses with leading domain partners. These courses intend to provide high quality, high impact training in short durations. Our target audience for these courses is both students as well as working professionals.
