Description: IEC Dakotas, your local independent electrical contractor association for North and South Dakota, offers apprentice training classes for years one through four, plus certified electrician continuing education classes, journeyman exam prep courses, and a professional electrician’s program (PEP).
Continuing Education Courses. By state law, electricians must take up to 16 hours of Continuing Education classes every two years to maintain their license. IEC Dakotas offers various certified courses throughout the year to help electricians meet this requirement. Sign-up for in-classroom or virtual courses at Eventbrite.
Professional Electrician’s Program (PEP) . This program is an intensive 2 year course intended for apprentices with more than 8,000 hours of On-the-Job hours but no formal training. The course covers topics like theory, math, motors, leadership, print reading, and test prep. Instructor led online. $3390/members, $5000/non-members. Begins January, 2024!
Journeyman Test Prep Course . This 10 week, one night per week course is intended to provide insight and prepare apprentices to pass the journeyman’s exam. Class is live online and instructor led. Topics include NEC, Print Reading, Math, and plenty of practice questions. $250/members, $470/non-members.
