The prestigious institution is named after St. Thomas, Christ's Apostle, his genuine and faithful servant in all truth. He is often referred to as “doubting Thomas"? because of a number of queries he has raised to his “guru"? Jesus Christ. But if he doubted he also believed. He has to his credit the absolute exclamation of faith through his words, “My Lord and My God!"? He was equally courageous and willing to stand by Jesus when confronted by dangerous situations.
