How Education Works is a book about technology as much as it is a book about education. It is also a book about the nature of knowledge, of learning, of cognition, and, ultimately, of what it means to be human.  The publishers mostly see it as a book for professional teachers and are marketing it as such but, though teachers might be the main ones buying, downloading, or borrowing it (it's a bit self-fulfilling) and it is situated in an educational context, the intended audience is far broader.
