The hotel was built and designed to be relaxed, intimate, imaginative and adaptable. The façade of the building remains just as it was in 1870 while the interior has completely transformed. The architect, Inma Rábano, worked with us to rehabilitate this historic building into a structure that could house the details. The design was done by our friends, the Australian born- Barcelona based duo, Blankslate. Based on their numerous travels to Sri Lanka, and their passion for Geoffrey Bawa's 'tropical modernism
