The term ‘architectural glazing’ is broad in its use but is generally applied to commercial and office buildings with their sheer glass walls. However, this type of glazing is transferable - and as beautiful - in a renovation, home extension or new build where it may be discussed as fenestration. This project in East Cornwall, 2019 with large areas of glass creating a light and bright, vibrant living area demonstrates fenestration in residential architecture.
When designing or redesigning your residential, office or commercial building - the positioning of the property’s glazing is a crucial factor in how the building will look and feel. Slender and strong, aluminium frames can support significantly larger glass panes than uPVC and timber alternatives; resulting in improved U-values and thermal efficiency.
Mixing technical glass solutions such as heated glass, privacy glass, and specialised glass coatings allows these minimally framed glazing systems to be as functional as possible.
