Homeopathy is a holistic system of medication, Which intends to represent the body to heal itself. It is based on the principle of remedies. It was founded by a German doctor Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) in the late 18th Century. The word ‘homoios’ means ‘like’ or ‘similar’ and ‘pathos’ means suffering and so Homeopathy is a ‘medicine of likes’. It is a way of curing the suffering in a diseased self by the administration of remedies that can provide similar suffering in a proportionately healthy individual.

James Tyler Kent (1849 – 1916) was an American physician and a forefather of modern homeopathy. He is said to have contributed as much as Hahnemann to homeopathy. In 1897 Kent published a massive guidebook on human ailment.
