Holy Island is a very special place in the far North East of England, separated from the rest of Northumberland by a 4 mile long causeway, which is covered by the North Sea for 5 hours at a time, twice a day.

As well as being a place of great natural beauty, Holy Island (also known as Lindisfarne) is the place where Christianity first arrived in England in 635 AD.  It has been a place of pilgrimage ever since.

St Cuthbert’s Centre is at the heart of the Island, offering a welcome to many different visitors, and a prayerful space for individuals or groups. It is with huge sadness that we recently received the news that our Warden, Revd Rachel Poolman would be taking early retirement due to ongoing health issues. You can see her farewell message on our Facebook page. There is a link on our News page or click the Facebook logo on the top right of this screen.
