The Historic Hampden Academy campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Historic Bell Tower and original building show the Greek Revival style popular in the mid 19th century. The front lawn was the site of the Battle of Hampden during the War of 1812 . In addition, the building operated as a Hampden Academy High School until 2012.
