Our aim is to promote, assist and advance tertiary education in Aotearoa New Zealand. We have members from more than 15 tertiary institutions around the country. Our particular focus is building a community of tertiary mātauranga/educators and facilitating the improvement of teaching.

TERNZ focuses on facilitating research-based exchange in a supportive atmosphere. Extended, interactive presentation sessions are interleaved with host group meetings that facilitate sharing and community building.

TERNZ conferences are typically held every year in late November/early December. The conference is not held when the New Zealand branch hosts the HERDSA conference.
