Larrie Thomas was first certified in 1967 . Seen above, he is welding on top of the Circus Circus merry-go-round before 1972. Larrie was employed with Wells Cargo and TAB contractors for some years before starting his own company Certified Welding in 1977. Also shown here is Larrie standing next to a track hoe bucket with ripper pockets that he made faster than could be ordered from the factory about 1978. I remember helping my dad Larrie Thomas on lots of welding jobs in the 1970's. I don't ever remember "learning to weld". Me and my brothers had seen Dad weld, torch and grind so many things that we always knew what to do. The first job I remember doing my self was some utility box covers for an underground company. I welded them up with 7024 and it seemed so easy... I guess it was easy. My younger brother Devin Thomas was a very talented welder in the 70's and 80's and was soon making knives like Uncle Bill
