Haldia Development Authority is a statutory authority constituted under The West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act 1979.The Authority is guided by the Board of Haldia Development Authority.The board has been constituted by the Notification of the State Government.
Haldia Planning Area covers 2360.242 sq.km area of PurbaMedinipur district in West Bengal.It contains 3 Sub divisions, 15 blocks, 146 G.P, 3 Municipalities and 15 Census Towns (CTs). Haldia Development Authority is responsible for infrastructure development in this area.
Haldia is one of the major industrial hub of West Bengal. It is one of the largest manufactures of petro-chemical products and crude oil. HDA presently have 341 acre of land for industrial development.
