The long awaited results of the LIVE-HCM study have been published. The study showed NO increase in cardiac arrests, ventricular arrhythmia or fainting among vigorous exercisers, disproving the long held assumption that vigorous exercise was dangerous for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
As many as 60% of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy don’t receive an appropriate diagnosis when they first come to medical attention.
