He received numerous awards for research excellence, including the Michael J. Brennan Runner Up Award from the Review of Financial Studies, the inaugural AAM CAMRI Prize in Asset Management , as well as best paper prizes from the European Finance Association , the Southwestern Finance Association , and the Financial Management Association.
Hannes has received numerous teaching excellence awards while teaching executives and non-executives at Bocconi , Rotterdam School of Management , Saïd Business School at University of Oxford , and the Duisenberg School of Finance . Hannes received his PhD in Finance from Ludwig Maximilians University Munich in 2005.
