Description: Hafizah Augustus Geter is a Nigerian-American poet, writer, editor, and literary agent. Her memoir, The Black Period: On Personhood, Race & Origin, is forthcoming from Random House, 9.20.2022. She is the author of the debut poetry collection Un-American, a NAACP Image Award finalist, a PEN Open Book Award finalist, and longlisted for the 2021 Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize. Her writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Bomb Magazine, The Believer, The Paris Review, among others.
