I am currently a Chair Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at SUSTech in Shenzhen, China's Silicon Valley. I joined SUSTech from Durham University , UK where I was the inaugural Executive Director of the Institute of Advanced Research Computing, a Chair in Computer Engineering and the Head of the Innovative Computing Group at the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences. In the past, I was a Senior Research Scientist with IBM Research, Ireland and a Professor at Trinity Colle
I am a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science , a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the British Computer Society .
I hold an INSEAD Certificate in Corporate Governance ( INSEAD International Directors Programme ) and a PhD in Computer Science (with S. Furber 's AMULET/APT Group) from the University of Manchester.
