Description: Glenfarg CommunityTransport Group - improving transport in and around the village of Glenfarg, and reduce dependence on the motor car.
We are members of the Community Transport Association who define community transport as ‘flexible and accessible community-led solutions in response to unmet local transport needs, and often represents the only means of transport for many vulnerable and isolated people, often older people or people with disabilities. Organisations should always be for a social purpose and never for profit’.
The service operates a flexi-route, “wiggling” off the main route to serve smaller communities -like Duncrievie – and local businesses such as the Village Inn and Caulder’s Garden Centre.
A team of around 15 enthusiastic volunteer drivers take villagers to a wide range of destinations for various purposes. Shopping, theatre, cultural & sporting outings.
