Welcome to the GOJU-RYU KARATE-DO INTERNATIONAL web site
The GKI provides its members with the highest level of instruction in traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do as taught by Chojun Miyagi, in a friendly democratic association. Links are maintained with similar groups in other countries, and with highly respected Sensei in Okinawa and Japan.
The association aims to achieve excellence in its instructors through its own program of training, coaching and refereeing courses. We focus on traditional karate with its self defence benefits but also encourage successful competition karate for those who desire it. Our principles include respect for the individual, recognition of effort and attainment, participation in the decision making process and high moral and ethical standards.
