A non-profit industrial association, FYF was dedicated to technical and scientific research at The Institute for Surface Chemistry, YKI, in Stockholm. Since the 1960’s FYF member companies from around the world have worked in contract research projects and in public-private partnerships, to the benefits of industry, academy and society.

The Association for Surface Chemistry Research, FYF, was the non-profit industrial association at YKI. Members of FYF were YKI’s most important clients and industrial partners. The organisation of FYF changed somewhat over the years, but its prime objective dates back to the formation of YKI in 1968, when the precursor of FYF was formed. Membership was open to any company or organization interested in surface chemistry research.
