FRIENDS#UNHOSTED is developed by the staff at Agical , a Swedish IT consultancy firm with a passion for building the software community and for open source. F#Un came out of the desire to have a social network where the network is owned by the users, not by some Mega Corp. The #unhosted technology makes this possible. At the moment, all data is public, meaning anyone can read anything you write. We intend to add privacy enhancing features using common cryptographic solutions.
Regarding how #unhosted works, please read the material on unhosted.org . Simply put, it is a secure, standardized, API for storing key-value data pairs in different categories.
