rua francisco octaviano , a popular ipanema street, was previously called rua da igrejinha (little church street) due to the situation of the little church of our lady of copacabana at arpoador beach - it was later named in honour of the journalist, lawyer, politician, poet and brazilian diplomat francisco octaviano de almeida rosa, who was an important figure in the history of brazil and in particular in history of the city of rio de janeiro.
