The FPIA was established in November 2010 and aims to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the South African import sector.
The FPIA considers and assists members with matters related to the importation of fresh fruit and vegetables into South Africa. It also provides a mechanism to engage with regulatory authorities in a coordinated and informed manner with due consideration of the resolutions of the forum it constitutes and the interests of the fresh produce industry in South Africa as a whole.
