A conservation area amongst some of the most beautiful countryside within the British Isles, and is one of the few remaining unspoilt harbour villages in Cornwall. Designated an Area of Outstanding beauty, the National Trust own and care for the beautiful medieval harbour and surrounding coastline.
The parish has a thriving community based around its village hall, community and recreation centre, churches and pubs. Local residents play active roles in Boscastle WI, HM Coastguard and the National Coastwatch Institution. The Boscastle Buoys and Cobweb Crew sing traditional sea shanties and raise thousands of pounds for local charities. Boscastle CIC saved the public toilets from closure and provides a Boscastle community minibus.
