My name is Roger Brewis, and for fourteen years I have been tutoring students in maths and other subjects with high levels of success from my home in Coleford in the Forest of Dean. I focus my tuition on understanding because it rapidly improves students' confidence. Understanding also makes the rules and techniques much easier to remember, and is the only effective way to achieve high marks. I can explain how fractions work, what algebra is for, and why employers ask for maths. I provide effective explanations for all levels of mathematics and levels of ability.
Parents should see a clear improvement in confidence after one or two lessons, and this will continue to build. I teach every topic from the most basic level, so that I can correct misunderstandings that may have been there for several years. Correcting these hidden misunderstandings is one of the keys to regaining confidence and tackling more advanced topics.
