Last week we were kindly invited to Matfen Hall to spend the night. Matfen Hall is a stunning stately home situated in the heart of Northumberland. It is the perfect location to relax, stay and eat if you are looking for a little bit of luxury in your life. We arrived at Matfen at about 15.30 in the afternoon (check in was from 3 onwards) and it was a beautiful day. We were given our key card and we headed to our room. We realised that we were heading towards the Great Hall, which is actually where we were married and they had booked us into the bridal suite, which was a complete surprise. We had a view over the grounds and the golf course and it brought back such incredible memories of our special day.
We settled into the room and let the boys explore our surroundings and the decided to head out for a walk around the grounds. We asked at reception if they recommended any walking routes and they gave us a map detailing three different routes. We headed across the golf course (keeping to the allocated paths) and had such a lovely time. Obviously, there are golfers around but there are plenty of paths to keep on. The boys loved the walk, we found some ladybirds and slugs and they even spotted a big tractor,
