5/17 - FedEx Pilots Vote Overwhelmingly to Authorize a Strike
On May 17th, voting closed on a historic strike authorization ballot – the first one ever formally conducted by FedEx pilots – with over 97% participation and 99% voting in favor of strike authorization. Within 12 hours of the strike authorization vote opening on April 18th, 81% of FedEx pilots had participated.
This strike authorization vote permits FedEx Express pilots, in the absence of a new collectively bargained agreement, to withdraw their services when allowed by the National Mediation Board (NMB) and if the pilot leaders decide it is necessary and appropriate.
