Public expectations to generate sustainable solutions for people in Fragile and Conflict-affected Situations (FCS) are growing. But there is a lack of clarity on the actual social impact of current practices and policies of business, governments, NGOs and international institutions active in FCS. Showing evidences on what works will set 'the frontrunners' apart from others.
Much time and money go into the gathering of information and the reporting on international guidelines and standards, ESG criteria and the SDGs. They are difficult to measure and often do not capture real impact in complex high-risk situations. Managing and measuring social impact in FCS requires specialized skills, access to ground-level data and established local networks.
