The European Resource Bank is proud to celebrate its 20th anniversary in Porto with Instituto +Liberdade, a Portuguese think tank dedicated to promoting economic, political, and individual freedom through education.
Over the past few years the emphasis has shifted from the global pandemic to the Russia-Ukraine war and now highlights a problem on everyone’s doorstep: the cost of living. The lockdown measures in response to Covid-19 were more effective in hobbling the economy, fracturing supply chains, and setting the stage for rampant inflation than they were in saving lives. Russia’s attack on Ukraine brought to the surface Europe’s energy dependence and the folly of relying on the green transition for succour.
