Dr James Espey OBE is a successful businessman, investor, author and global philanthropist. James’s most notable success was Mimecast where he provided much of the seed corn funding and was Chairman for the first 6 years. The company floated on the NASDAQ in 2016. The company has 12 global offices with over 4000 employees, of which more than 400 are UK based. Mimecast was sold in 2022 for $5.8 billion.
Born in Livingstone, Zambia in 1943 and educated in Cape Town, South Africa, before being transferred to London in 1977.
