Description: Enrico Fabian is a German freelance documentary photographer based in New Delhi, India. He photographs personal projects, assignments and documentaries in India focusing closely on stories of social, environmental and political issues in the region.
India, its people, and their personal stories have had a tremendous impact on my life. Because of this, I have been constantly exploring ways beyond my photography practice to share my experiences of working, and living, in this part of the world. My initiatives are based on my belief that a direct and personal exchange, the sharing of time, resources, thoughts, and ideals can have a life-enriching, supporting, and maybe even life-changing impact for both sides.
Focus Life is an immersive lecture-cum-education program mainly designed for schools and other educational institutions. The idea originated from my wish to personally share first-hand experiences of realities of life in India. Participants of the program are confronted with these experiences and as such are encouraged to reflect on their own, often privileged, living circumstances. Throughout the years, Focus Life has become a steady part of the curriculum of various German schools.
Slacktivism is a social sports initiative designed for youths from socially deprived backgrounds and was born out of the idea to share my passion for the art of slacklining and the wish to create space and time for an empowering exchange of ideas between people. The program is regularly held in institutions such as juvenile prisons and orphanages in India. Beyond this, slackline sessions are organized in public parks. Slacktivism is supported by Gibbon , one of the leading slackline producers worldwide.
