Description: Sound - is all around us. As a photograph is to the image, I take audio snapshots. Sound is evocative, even everyday sounds have a different character in different parts of the country, more so in different parts of the world. There are sounds that capture a moment, and others that capture an era. Who remembers the screech of the dot matrix printer of the 1980s, or the modems of the 1990s? Open you ear to some sounds and their stories.
Sound is evocative, even everyday sounds have a different character in different parts of the country, more so in different parts of the world. I am trying to become a better listener to the sounds around me, the way the landscape speaks to me. Our culture is very tuned to the visual, but the sounds of a place have a character of their own. I have picked out my favourite recordings here .
