Cork University Hospital has one of the largest Emergency Departments (ED) in Ireland and has a significant resuscitation workload. It is the only hospital in Ireland with "level 1 trauma" criteria. We have a particular interest in education with active pre-hospital, emergency nursing , undergraduate , Doctors in Training and specialist registrar programmes.
The ED at the Mercy University Hospital specialises in inner-city emergencies.
Adult patients with minor leg or arm injuries may also attend our Urgent Care Centre at St. Mary's Health Campus , Gurranabraher, or our local injury units at Bantry and Mallow .
