Constructing or renovating a facility is usually a major expense for the Owner. A cost-effective way to protect the investment is to integrate commissioning into the construction process. Commissioning elevates the quality of the project, verifies that the installed systems function as intended, and the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) staff is trained to maintain the systems.
The Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system and the Building Automation System (BAS) are the heart and soul of most facilities. When the HVAC equipment and the BAS are not functioning properly and/or not integrated, excessive energy is consumed, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is compromised, maintenance expenses rise, and occupancy productivity diminishes.
