Eddie Rodriguez graduated from the University of Texas-Austin with both a bachelor’s degree and a law degree. He served as chief of staff to former state Representative Glen Maxey, who would later become his District 51 predecessor from 1997 to 2002. From 1996 to 2001, he was also the executive director of the Travis County Democratic Party. He worked as the assistant director of people at Draco Group Housing from 1993 until 1996.
