The Environmental Politics and Policy (EPP) Research Group was the first research group of the Australian Political Studies Association (APSA) . It is the successor to the Ecopolitics Association of Australasia and the associated Ecopolitics Conference Series, which held sixteen conferences from 1986. The Environmental Politics and Policy (EPP) Research Group was launched at the 2011 APSA Conference at Old Parliament House in Canberra, hosted by the Australian National University , where the inaugural Pete Hay Environmental Politics Prize was announced.
In 2016 a Symposium on Environmental Movement Politics in Australia was published in the journal Environmental Politics (Volume 25, Issue 6). The Symposium emerged from the 2014 EPP Group Workshop on The Future of Environmental Movements and was guest edited by EPP Group Secretary, David Schlosberg.
