Jaume d'Urgell (Barcelona, 1973) is a researcher in the Department of Law and International Relations at the EuroMed University Research Institute of the Complutense University of Madrid, an occupation he combines with his public activity in the dissemination and defence of Human Rights. He has been a speaker at numerous seminars, conferences and public events organised by (or in collaboration with) departments and student associations at various Spanish universities.
As a member of the university research institute EMUI of the UCM (since 2013), she coordinates the continuing education diploma: "Critical Reasoning and Human Rights in Contemporary Society", reference D-0306, and teaches various training activities (Abolition of Military Criminal Jurisdiction in times of peace; Assistance to detainees and protocol of behaviour in case of arbitrary arrest; Communication techniques oriented to the defence of Human Rights; etc.) in agreement with the International Foundation
He chairs (ff) the Social Council of the EMUI_ EuroMed Univesity (since 2014). He chaired the Agrupación Especial Ateneísta de Retórica y Elocuencia within the Ateneo Científico, Literario y Artístico de Madrid (from its re-foundation, in 2007, until 2012); he was President of the International Human Rights Foundation (between 2011 and 2015); he was a member of the Jury of the Organising Committee of the Nicolás Salmerón Human Rights Awards (between 2009 and 2013).
