ROCK CLIMBING - One of the main reasons people visit this beautiful place is rock climbing. If you want a lesson you can book one with the Joshua Tree Rock Climbing School . If you know what you’re doing and just want to rent some gear you can do it at Joshua tree Outfitters . If you want to shop for gear because you love gear (like us) we recommend Nomad Ventures . JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK - Presumably this is why you came here! There is so much to say about the park, but I’ll just add my two cents. For hiking, a nice hour-long easy hike is the Hidden Valley loop. Barker Dam is also a lovely little hike. For bouldering our favorite place is the Gunsmoke Traverse. For rope climbing I’ll let the guidebooks speak for themselves.
