Game Design for the Music Theory Classroom, a poster presentation by Douglas Buchanan and Dr. Patricia Burt of the University of Delaware, was presented at the Pedagogy into Practice conference, sponsored by Music Theory Pedagogy Online, at UC Santa Barbara.
On May 3, Buchanan conducted a joint concert with the Washington Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble and the Choir of St. David’s, featuring music of 17th-century Vienna. The performance included the Missa Maria concertata, a rarely-heard masterwork of Christoph Strauss.
Buchanan’s Scots and Waters will appear alongside works of Natalie Draper, James Young, and Cecilia Livingston on O Sea-Starved, Hungry Sea, a recording project by Danielle Buonaiuto, soprano, and John Wilson, piano.
