Contemporary Figurative and Western Art
Having lived in Oklahoma for over 40 years, Dana finds great inspiration in the cultural history of the peoples of the state. Her first interest in western art began with her grandfather, a cowboy who lived and worked on ranches in West Texas. Her 3x great grandmother was a full blood Cherokee in North Carolina and although her ancestors never registered and they have lost that heritage, she finds fulfillment in sharing her visions of Native Americans and the richness of their culture in her paintings.
Dana currently lives at Grand Lake in Northeast Oklahoma. Her newest series of paintings reflects her love and inspiration from the landscape and people of the lake and surrounding areas.
