Donna Gibbons, the owner and granddaughter of Mary Farrington Natale for whom the restaurant was named, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2011.
Donna's sweet sauce, which she called the Maria sauce, was based on a recipe she and her grandmother prepared together from the time Donna was a toddler. Many of Donna's pre-school hours were spent in the care of her maternal grandmother while her parents both worked.
