Regards Russell E. "There are some tunnels in Crowborough on Ashdown Forest - I know because I've been down some of them. They were built during the first world war by sappers as part of their training. You can still see the remains of entrances but most have collapsed now. Just south of the A26 at Poundgate not far from Old Toll Cottage (which is where my father lived)." Thanks Hamster for this contribution.
