Unfortunately, our judge for our second print competition had a medical emergency and had to concentrate on that, so was unable to judge for us. However, our former Chairman and Competition Secretary, John Royle CPAGB, Hon LCPU, is an experienced judge and kindly offered to judge the competition for us at very short notice. Congratulations to Kath Hill, who won the Nature section with her perfectly timed photograph of two ‘Common Terns with Catch’. In the Mono section, Peter Robinson’s print of an ‘Oasish Guitarist’ took the top mark. John liked the impact and twisted angle, which injected energy into the image. It was good to see new member, Sam Holden score 19 for his fine study of ‘Fountains Abbey Cloisters’. John thought this image had plenty of detail in the depth of the picture.
