Description: Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK is a group of bereaved people from every part of the UK, campaigning to ensure that our losses are learnt from and that the terrible mistakes made during the pandemic are never repeated again.
We are a group of over 6,000 people personally bereaved by Covid-19 and we are campaigning for lessons to be learned from our losses in order to save lives during the remainder of the Covid-19 pandemic and any future pandemics the country faces. Since December 2020 we have formally constituted ourselves as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and we have since been able to fundraise in order to recruit a small staff team who ensure that our members and volunteers are well-supported and our work is
Having secured statutory public inquiries in the UK and Scotland, we are now seeking to secure devolved inquiries in Wales and Northern Ireland. We are campaigning to ensure that lived experience is at the heart of the inquiries, and that the lessons learned from the inquiries result in changes in public policy.
We provide an effective voice for bereaved families. We are a central part of public discourse around the pandemic and are shaping the way it is handled through media appearances, engagement with policymakers and partnership working.
