The name is Latin for “Heart of Jesus.” For anyone familiar with the formation program for seminarians in the diocese, the reason behind the name is obvious. Everything that we do is aimed at forming these young men to conform their own hearts to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Seminarian Education Dinner and Auction (SEDA), as it has previously been called, was started in the early 2000’s by the Serra Club of Williamson County. The first dinner raised $6000, and it was a huge success. Over the years, the dinner has continued to grow in tremendous ways. More recently the Diocese’s Office of Stewardship and Development took over the management of the event and the Serra Clubs of Nashville and Williamson County have continued to assist in a supporting role.
