Note: If you are looking for a freelance editor, see the listings on the "Freelancers" tab of this website. You will have to skim the information there to find contact details for individual editors you'd like to contact about your project. There is no main person who supervises the individuals listed there, because each person there is an independent contractor. Copyediting-L is not an editing service or business and does not employ anyone. Copyediting-L also is not a professional association for editors;

We have two lists: Copyediting-L (nicknamed CE-L ) is the main list, where topics such as politics, religion, sex, and operating-system evangelism are forbidden. Copyediting-Off-list-L (nicknamed CEL-O ) is the "chat" list, where all topics are permitted. Subscribing to the off-list requires that you be already subscribed to the main list.
